Amityville Death Toilet Blu Ray Review (SRS Cinema)

Amityville Death Toilet is a 2023 horror comedy written and directed by Evan Jacobs (Amityverse, Death Toilet franchise, DV franchise, Fleas franchise, American Scream, Amityville Apocalypse, Amityville Backpack, Amityville Backrooms, The Pickleball Exorcist, and Mansplained). It was produced by Ron Bonk (Amityverse, Amityville A.I., Amityville VR, Amityville Thanksgiving, Amityville Turkey Day, Amityville Bigfoot, Amityville Ripper, She Kills, House Shark, Hi-8, and The Hidden). Amityverse includes a follow up to this. A wave of grotesque “toilet murders” plunges the cursed town of Amityville into chaos. When the blood-soaked trail leads back to the town’s most infamous haunted house, paranormal podcaster Gregg G. Allin (played by: Isaac Golub from Death Toilet franchise, DV franchise, Insect, Black Friday, and Ultimate Target) sets out to uncover the truth, only to discover a horror beyond imagination. With the pressure mounting from Amityville’s exasperated Mayor Dump (played by: Roy Englebrecht from Celebrity Boxing, Death Toilet 5: Invasion of the Potty Snatchers, and The Park), Gregg enters a seemingly normal residence that hides a porcelain gateway to hell itself. What follows is a supernatural showdown between man and bathroom fixture as Gregg faces the ultimate evil lurking in the pipes of the underworld!!!! Amityville Death Toilet might be one of the worst films that I’ve ever seen in my entire life. Considering how many bad movies that I’ve watched over the years, that’s a bold statement. I don’t mean it as an insult either because clearly director Evan Jacobs was trying to make this as bad as possible on purpose. The script is hilarious, ridiculous, and it’s extremely random at times. Jacobs is known for his silly Death Toilet movies and he’s done a few Amityville features over the years so he decided to combine both of those in this no budget production. Lead actor Isaac Golub is all about being over the top and pushing everything to a whole new level as the ambitious Ghost Hunter Gregg G. Allin. He thinks it’s a total joke when he gets this gig but he realizes it’s no joke when he’s way over his head with his crazy scenario. Roy Englebrecht does his Murray Hamilton in Jaws impersonation as the greedy Mayor Dump. He’s doing whatever it takes to cover up this deadly mess in his community. The rest of the cast includes Mike Hartsfield (Amityverse) and Evan Jacobs (Amityville Chupacabra). The acting here is like a straight up live action cartoon. Amityville Death Toilet is loaded with embarrassing and cheap visual fx, they are so awful that they end up distracting. Most of the creative choices are questionable but they done to add to it’s already dumb humor and it gets to the point where nothing surprises the audience with Amityville Death Toilet. I will say that it’s not boring at all and it keeps your attention because it’s truly one of a kind. This independent horror parody would probably work so much better with a group of intoxicated or high friends. A drinking game would easily make it way more entertaining than watching it alone. This 1080p (1.85:1) uncensored transfer embraces it’s very small budget and limited locations. It looks as good as you’d imagine for something like this. It originally had a limited 200 run and it’s now available with wider distribution so it must be doing better than expected when it comes to home video sales. It has an English: Dolby Digital 5.1 track on the disc. Amityville Death Toilet isn’t exactly action packed besides it’s terror in the bathroom but it has a decent bump for the audio for it’s score here. All of the dialogue is crystal clear, all of the crazy shit here is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has an “Audio Commentary” with director Evan Jacobs. He shares lots of detailed information and inside stories about this no budget feature here. Jacobs wanted to catch up on some other stuff, he didn’t plan on doing anymore Death Toilets for awhile until he got pitched this. He goes over his history with Ron Bonk and SRS Cinema. He goes over his process, it’s overall development plus changes, and how he put it all together with Amityville Death Toilet theme making it stand out on it’s own. It has the little over 21 minute “Making of Amityville Death Toilet”. It has a few interviews with some of the main people involved with this project. They were getting a little tired of doing their normal Death Toilet movies but they were excited to do something in the Amityville universe with it. They chat about how this project was developed and they wanted to work with SRS Cinema for it. They made it a stand alone so casual viewers didn’t have to be familiar with the previous productions. They have fun talking about their experience with this unique take into this specific sub-genre. It has the official “Trailer” for Amityville Death Toilet. It has all kinds of SRS Cinema related “Trailers”. It’s a professionally made on demand BD-R. It’s definitely a completely different addition and original approach to the iconic Amityville universe.
