Amityville Thanksgiving DVD Review (SRS Cinema)

Amityville Thanksgiving is a 2022 horror comedy film co-written/edited/shot/produced/directed by Will Collazo (Theater of Horror, Faces of the Dead franchise, Camp Blood franchise, Amityville Shark House, Amityville Apocalypse, and Bloody Nun franchise) and Julie Anne Prescott (Amityville Turkey Day, Halloween Shark, Silent Night, Bloody Night 3: Descent, and Cheerleader Camp Elimination). It was produced by Ron Bonk (Amityville VR, Amityville Backrooms, Amityville Ripper, Amityville Turkey Day, Amityville Bigfoot, Amityville Shark House, Amityville Karen, Amityville Death Toilet, and Amityville AI). They made a follow up with Amityville Turkey Day in 2024. A struggling couple Jackie (played by: Natalie Peri from the Bloody Nun franchise, and Camp Blood 666 Part 2: Exorcism of the Clown) and Danny Defiore (played by: Paul Faggione from Empires of New York and Bloody Nun 2: The Curse) seeks marriage counseling, and goes on a retreat in isolated cabin. Their marriage counselor Frank Domonico (played by: Mark C. Fullhardt from The Irishman, Gotham, and The Deuce) plans to end their lives with a devilish Thanksgiving dinner, with them as the main course!!!! Amityville Thanksgiving combines the holidays, a psycho therapist, found footage, & Amityville. This horror comedy is more dialogue driven, nothing crazy happens for about 45 minutes. Will Collazo & Julie Anne Prescott are smart with their budget, they stick to one main location which still looks solid. It kinda goes over the top for the laughs. There’s very little violence, it feels more like a marriage drama with some dark humor thrown in. Mark C. Fullhardt gives a decent performance as Frank Domonico. He’s the perverted therapist with some evil secrets. Scream queen Julie Anne Prescott (Deadly Dares: Truth or Dare Part IV, Shakespeare’s Sh*tstorm, Clown Motel franchise, Don’t F*ck in the Woods 2, The Barn Part II, and The Amityville Harvest) has a small role here which is nice to see. She mainly writes and directs these days rather than acting. Paul Faggione and Natalie Peri has good chemistry as the lead couple. The rest of the cast includes Will Collazo, Tom Ciorciari, Shawn C. Phillips, David Perry, Tim Hatch, Avery Crumley, Phil Herman, Phil Herman, David J. Paul, and Marc Pearce. Amityville Thanksgiving can test your patience at times because it’s more of a character study than anything. Luckily, it’s shorter so it doesn’t drag too much. It’s definitely something different when it comes to the Amityville universe. Let’s discuss the special features from SRS Cinema on this DVD! It has an “Audio Commentary” with directors Will Collazo and Julie Anne Prescott. They chat about an actress backing out the last minute so they had completely change the script and concept. They talk about their cameos were originally longer but it didn’t record their dialogue. They share their experiences from the low budget production. They cover all the scenes as they watch it again. They provide some behind the scenes stuff with lots of inside information. It has an almost 20 minute “Interview” with villain Mark C. Fullhardt conducted by co-director Will Collazo. He chats about he got into acting. He goes over some projects that he worked with Will on over the years including this one. It has a “Trailer” for Amityville Thanksgiving. It has a variety of SRS Cinema “Trailers”. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
