Amityville Turkey Day DVD Review (SRS Cinema)

Amityville Turkey Day is a 2024 horror comedy film co-written/produced/directed by Will Collazo (Theater of Horror, Faces of the Dead franchise, Camp Blood franchise, Amityville Shark House, Amityville Apocalypse, and Bloody Nun franchise) and Julie Anne Prescott (Amityville Thanksgiving, Halloween Shark, Silent Night, Bloody Night 3: Descent, and Cheerleader Camp Elimination). It was produced by Ron Bonk (Amityville VR, Amityville Backrooms, Amityville Ripper, Amityville Thanksgiving, Amityville Bigfoot, Amityville Shark House, Amityville Karen, Amityville Death Toilet, and Amityville AI). It’s a follow up to 2022’s Amityville Thanksgiving. A turkey from hell (voiced by: Steven Kiseleski from Terrifier 2, Stream, Murdercise, Amityville Bigfoot, Amityville Shark House, Amityville Karen, and Crackcoon) returns home for a nice feast on Thanksgiving. He starts terrorizing the production set of an indie horror movie directed by no budget director Rocco (played by: Michael Ruggiere from The Following). It’s turkey time mother clucker!!!! A killer turkey mixed with the Amityville Horror concept sounds like a fun experience to me. It reminds me a little of the ThanksKilling franchise. I just wish more of Amityville Turkey Day was dedicated to this hilarious talking turkey that wants to kill everyone. He had all kinds of silly one liners. Steven Kiseleski was the best thing about this independent feature. The rest of the supporting cast includes Jen Elyse Feldy (Faces of the Dead), Tim Hatch (Cocaine Werewolf), Amanda Flowers (Psycho Ape!), Erica Dyer (The Town Without Halloween), Dino Castelli (Screamwalkers), Matt Bruzzio (Terrifier 2), David Perry (Amityville franchise), Clint Beaver (Amityville franchise), James Janso (King Cobra), Joel D. Wynkoop (Creep), and Phil Herman (Burglar from Hell). Unfortunately, it focuses on so much with the low budget movie stuff that goes nowhere. It kinda falls flat on it’s jokes when it comes to that aspect and all it’s cliches. It feels about 20 minutes too long so it does drag at times and it has a kinda weird flow to it. I was really impressed with it’s no budget gore, special fx, and kills. It’s definitely not the worst Amityville entry that I’ve seen but I’m not sure if I would ever revisit it again. If you can be patient, I think it’s worth checking out at least once for it’s silly main villain and his holiday themed killing spree. Those moments were a blast. It had so much potential but it just wasn’t consistent at all. It’s currently streaming on Tubi right now. Let’s discuss the special features from SRS Cinema on this DVD! It has an “Audio Commentary” with co-director Will Collazo and actor Tim Hatch. They bring up the intro is a nod to Amityville Thanksgiving and the Found Footage sub-genre. They are both proud of this low budget holiday feature. They share their experiences from the independent set. They break down scenes and enjoy going back into Amityville Turkey Day. They share plenty of detailed information and behind the scenes stories. It has the little over 5 minute “Behind the Scenes”. It has a “Trailer” for Amityville Turkey Day. It has a variety of SRS Cinema “Trailers”. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
