Blood Bitch Baby Blu Ray Review (Blood Sick Productions)

Blood Bitch Baby is a 2024 horror film written, edited, and directed by Donald Farmer (Cannibal Hookers, Demon Queen, Scream Dream, Vampire Cop, The Bizarre World of Jess Franco, Invasion of the Scream Queens, Savage Vengance, Red Lips, Vicious Kiss, Darbie’s Scream House, and Demolition Highway). It was co-edited and co-composed by Tim Ritter (Truth or Dare? franchise, Killing Spree, Creep, Dirty Cop franchise, and Twisted Illusions). It was executive produced by Damin Toell (Hooker with a Hacksaw, Cannibal Hookers, Debbie Does Demons, Cannibal Cop, Darbie’s Scream House, and Amityville Aliens). Elizabeth Bathory (played by: Jessa Flux from The Barn Part III, Curtains for Christmas, Orgy of the Dead 2, Screw Year’s Eve, and Fatal Desires) lures a young woman to her lair so that she can give birth to the creature. The infamous legend of Countess Elizabeth Bathory out of 17th-century Hungary is put into the sleazy underbelly of modern-day America. Forged in a pact with Satan himself, Bathory has survived through the ages, feeding on innocence and plotting the birth of her unholy master’s monstrous heir. She’s wielding her deadly allure to ensnare Jenny (played by: Angel Nicole Bradford from The Barn Part III, Killer Campout: Part II, Shark Exorcist 2: Unholy Waters, Clown Motel: 3 Ways to Hell, and Grandma) is a woman whose torment takes a dark new turn after Bathory grants her demonic powers. Those powers become both a curse and a weapon when Jenny turns them against her violently unstable boyfriend Kevin (played by: Joe Casterline from Cannibal Hookers, Darbie’s Scream House, and Scream Queens Weenie Roast). Now she’s more confident than ever and she won’t back down from the unholy woman!!!!! Underground legend Donald Farmer is behind the camera for this modern day take on the infamous killer woman Elizabeth Bathory. He handled the script and editing besides directing it. Elizabeth Bathory was one of most notorious murderers of all time, they have made a few things based on her crimes over the years but not as many as you would think so this grabbed my attention right away. This is a darker and more mysterious collaboration between both Farmer and Flux. They have worked together multiple times at this point so they have great chemistry. One of my favorite modern day Scream Queens Jessa Flux is the main villain here as Elizabeth Bathory. She’s seductive and manipulative to the unexpected. She convinces a variety of vulnerable women to take a high paying job from her with a hidden agenda. She gets her powers from this process. Jessa Flux is stunning as the evil temptress. Angel Nicole Bradford is actually the lead actress in Blood Bitch Baby as Jenny. She’s in a rough abusive relationship and she’s struggling with money. She’s desperate to do whatever it takes to move on from her living nightmare. She already knows something is wrong during her job interview. She decides to take a risky opportunity to have the money to start a new life. It changes everything and there’s no turning back. Angel Nicole Bradford is very impressive as the brave newcomer in this dangerous environment that outsmarts her current problems. The rest of the cast includes Joe Casterline, Fallon Vendette, Mel Heflin (Darbie’s Scream House), Claude D. Miles (Darbie’s Scream House), Ronnie George (Shark Exorcist 2: Unholy Waters), Marilyn Paige (Banana Brothers), Jessie Youngs (Gentle Cycle), and Kimberly Cole Zemke (Debbie Does Demons). Blood Bitch Baby definitely feels like it’s heavily influenced by Rosemary’s Baby. It has more than a few similar themes to that one. Farmer once again provides plenty of sleaze and nudity. There’s a good amount of violence and gore in this. The special fx are on the cheaper side but they do the job for this no budget effort. The visual fx are awful and they should have been never added to this. I understand independent productions want to be ambitious but sometimes it’s better to just stay on your current level with what you have to work with. Blood Bitch Baby is a tribute to satanic panic cinema with some softcore vibes thrown in the mix. This feels like it should have been produced in the 80’s. I don’t know why but those older variations just hit different with a familiar approach like this. I guess it’s maybe that technology is so impressive these days that we expect more from today’s cinema despite whatever backing they have. Regardless, Blood Bitch Baby never takes itself seriously so it’s audience should do the exact same thing. It’s a fun, sleazy, and bloody disaster that is worth checking out!!!!! Let’s discuss this high definition presentation and special features from Blood Sick Productions! This 1080p (1.78:1) unrated transfer doesn’t hide it’s limitations on the screen. Blood Bitch Baby has more of a do it yourself homemade look rather than a professional feature. Personally, it doesn’t bother me at all. It adds to it’s atmosphere, it kinda gives more of a natural feeling to it so it actually works to it’s advantages. It has an English 2.0 PCM track on the disc. The audio isn’t exactly that strong or noticable in Blood Bitch Baby. The soundtrack and score takes most of the attention of that department. All of the dialogue is very clean, the madness is elevated, and the music has a nice boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has an almost 4 minute “Introduction” with director Donald Farmer and actress Kasper Meltedhair. It has a little over a minute “Behind the Scenes Photo Album Gallery”. It has around 10 different Blood Sick Productions related “Trailers” that almost last for 20 minutes. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
