Traumatika Blu Ray Review (Well Go USA)

Traumatika is a 2024 horror film co-written, produced, shot, edited, and directed by Pierre Tsigaridis (Two Witches, I Who Have No One, and Frankie, Maniac Woman). It was produced and co-written by Maxime Rancon (Two Witches, Morreale Paris – Renaissance, Morreale Paris – Méridien, and Frankie, Maniac Woman). It grossed $457,760 during it’s limited theatrical run. Young Mikey’s (played by: Ranen Navat from Unwinding, White Vinegar, and WOW: Women of Wrestling) worst nightmares escalate into a horrifying reality when his mother (played by: Naomi Petit from Drug Rider, The Gilded Mirror, and My Happiness) starts exhibiting signs of demonic possession. The dark, malevolent force she harbors spreads beyond their home, claiming countless lives, and leaving a legacy of terror and devastation in its wake that will haunt the boy and his family for generations to come. As the sinister evil grows, survival becomes a desperate fight against a curse that refuses to be contained!!!! From the director of Two Witches, Pierre Tsigaridis provides another supernatural horror feature. It’s heavily influenced by Evil Dead and the homages are all over the place for it. The script deals with a variety of characters going through their own personal hell. It mixes paranormal with psychological. It features several sub-genres and trademarks for horror. It starts out very strong and it just gets into all of the chaos without any hesitation. Rebekah Kennedy (V/H/S/Halloween, Crust, Throwing Stones, Two Witches, and The Veil) plays the tortured Abigail. She’s put through a traumatic experience and it sets off a chain of destructive events. AJ Bowen (You’re Next, The Signal, The House of the Devil, The Sacrament, Hatchet II, and The Guest) is Sheriff Miller. He’s trying to investigate what’s going on around here. It just doesn’t add up and it’s a complete mess. Character actor Sean Whalen is the expert Steve that tries to warn others of the possible evil. He wants to help but it’s all out of his hands. He can’t really do much when the shit hits the fan. The rest of the supporting cast includes Ranen Navat, Naomi Petit, Maxime Rancon, Emily Goss (Snapshots), Sean O’Bryan (Olympus Has Fallen), Susan Gayle Watts (The Practice), Alondra Andrade (Love Kills), Paxton Carville (Queenpins), William Gabriel Grier (Crust), Marina Parodi (Two Witches), Brahim Rachiki (Redemption Day), Raquel Rojas (The Exorcism of God), and Julien Marlon Samani (Two Witches). One of the highlights when it comes to Traumatika is the gruesome special fx handled by artists Remi Dessinges (Two Witches) and Benoit Mannequin (Brothers, Two Witches, Tragic Jungle, and The Darkness). It’s loaded with nasty and brutal gore. It breaks taboos and it tries to trigger every possible thing for it’s audience. It doesn’t hold back for it’s creative violence which I appreciate. It keeps going with it’s wild and dark atmosphere until the last portion of Traumatika. It kinda runs out of gas and it doesn’t live up to what came before it for it’s finale. That’s the biggest flaw when it comes to this extreme horror production. I really enjoyed it but it had even more potential but it just stops with it’s intense momentum. This flew under the radar, I didn’t know about it until recently. It push limits and it’s fun for the most part. Well Go USA is really good about finding lesser known horror to distribute. This deserves way more attention than it currently gets, RECOMMENDED!!!! Let’s discuss this high definition presentation from Well Go USA! This 1080p (2.39:1) transfer looks much better than I thought would on home video for it’s Blu Ray debut. The nasty gore and the stylish cinematography stand out the most when it comes to the sharper visuals. It has an English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and English: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 tracks on the disc. The audio sounds great during it’s crazy moments and the score just adds to it all. All of the dialogue is crisp, the supernatural elements are elevated, and the music has a massive boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has the “Trailer” for Traumatika. It has various Well Go USA related “Trailers”. It’s a professionally made on demand BD-R. It’s available everywhere right now including MovieZyng.com, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
