To Your Last Death is a 2019 animated action horror film produced & directed by Jason Axinn (Starpocalypse, SMBC Theater, Inside the Legend, & Space Guys in Space). It was written/produced by Jim Cirile (Bounty Hunters, Banned, Hawk’s Vengeance, & Hardball) & Tanya C. Klein (Liberator & The Burning Dead). It was produced by John Frank Rosenblum (Charlie Says, Orgazmo, Star Trek: The Next Generation, & Dungeon Bastard). It premiered at the London FrightFest Film Festival & it was on released on Video on Demand everywhere. A young woman is forced to save her siblings which includes Ethan (played by: Damien C. Haas from Every [Blank] Ever, Smosh, & Clarence), Collin (played by: Benjamin Siemon from Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, ThanksKilling 3, & Troopers), & Kelsy (played by: Florence Hartigan from Phoenix Forgotten, Entrance, & The Purge: Ladies Night).
Miriam DeKalb (played by: Dani Lennon from The Love Witch, Bite Me, Dracula: Reborn, & Fight Night Legacy) takes on her father Cyrus (played by: Ray Wise from Twin Peaks, Robocop, Swamp Thing, & Jeepers Creepers 2) plus the powerful entity known as Gamemaster (played by: Morena Baccarin from Deadpool 1/2. The Flash, Gotham, & V) & his dangerous henchman Pavel (played by: Bill Moseley from Texas Chainsaw Massacre 2, House of 1000 Corpses, The Devil’s Rejects, & 3 From Hell). A deadly game is set up to test this dysfunctional family to come together as one to face their evil creator. This chaotic night is narrated by The Overseer (played by: William Shatner from the Star Trek franchise, American Psycho 2, T.J. Hooker, & Visiting Hours)!!!!
To Your Last Death is not your average animated feature. It’s loaded with wacky characters & lots of gore. This one has a great balance of action & horror. The story & script stays interesting, I think it would have been an awesome live action project. For the most part, it has more than a few unlikable characters so you don’t mind seeing them get slaughtered in this. The animation here is unique & it has it’s own style. To Your Last Death has excellent marketing because the main cast is mostly unknowns but they are surrounded by some familiar voices & names. Every role has it’s own problems & they are very different from each other. Ray Wise, Morena Baccarin, & Bill Moseley are all awesome villains in this & they elevate the overall production. William Shatner narrates the film with it’s his classic voice & it adds a nice touch to everything. This is one is brutal & gruesome, this is one messed up family that don’t get along at all. RECOMMENDED!!!!
Let’s talk about the high definition presentation from Quiver Distribution! This 1080p (1.78:1) transfer looks fantastic & the animation style here really stands out when it comes to the visuals. The English: Dolby Digital 5.1 track has a killer boost to it. All of the dialogue is very clean, all the chaos is elevated here, & the music roars through the speakers. It has English SDH subtitles. It has a “Trailer” for To Your Last Death. It comes with a slipcover. If you are a big fan of this feature, a v.i.p digital code is available with a sticker that comes on the packaging featuring 4 hours of bonus material for this that’s not featured on this disc. This is definitely for adults only because it’s a brutal animated movie that delivers on violence. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
