Till Death Blu Ray Review (Screen Media)

Till Death is a 2021 suspense thriller film directed by S.K. Dale (Tommy, The Coatmaker, Beyond the Water’s Edge, and Soul Trader) in his directorial debut. It was written by Jason Carvey (Desire, A New Wave, VHS Massacre, and VHS Massacre Too). Emma (played by: Megan Fox from Transformers franchise, Jennifer’s Body, Jonah Hex, This is 40, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 1/2) is unhappily married to her cold, controlling husband Mark (played by: Eoin Macken from La Brea, Resident Evil: The Final Chapter, The Forest, and The Night Shift), a criminal attorney for the city of New York. After ending her affair with Tom (played by: Aml Ameen from The Left Right Game, The Bill, The Maze Runner, and Inside Man: Most Wanted), a partner at her husband’s firm, Emma goes out with Mark to celebrate their anniversary. At dinner, Mark surprises her with a necklace made of steel. He then drives her to a secluded lake house. He apologizes for his behavior in the past and they make up over it. The next morning, Emma wakes up and finds herself handcuffed to Mark, who abruptly shoots himself in the head. Forced to drag Mark’s body, Emma discovers he destroyed her cell phone and removed every sharp item in the house. When she finally gets to her SUV, the radio plays a taunting message from Mark, revealing he was aware of her affair. The vehicle then dies and Emma finds all of the gas had been siphoned out. Hours later, Emma finds out Mark was facing disbarment for illegal activities from Tom. A man named Jimmy (played by: Jack Roth from Bohemian Rhapsody, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, and Game of Thrones) emerges from the truck and tells Tom he’s there to fix the plumbing. Tom tries persuading Jimmy to leave, but is unable to. Jimmy’s brother, Bobby (played by: Callan Mulvey from Children of the Corn, Avengers: Endgame, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Warcraft, and Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice), gets out of the truck. All hell breaks loose and Emma’s living nightmare becomes much worse. She must defend herself from these two blood thirsty killers while being trapped in this secluded area away from society. Can she survive this disaster????

Till Death is one of those smaller features that’s really smart and creative with it’s lower budget. They kept it to one main location for the most part. This works great for it’s isolated atmosphere. I honestly wasn’t expecting much from this one but it was much better than expected. Megan Fox has always been excellent eye candy but her acting has always been very hit or miss. Till Death is one of her best performances and her character goes through hell here. This little thriller turns into a revenge flick kinda which is cool with me every time when it comes to this type of movie. The rest of the cast is filled with unknowns but they have been in some bigger productions in the past so a few of them might have familiar faces to some of you. Everyone was really good in this, there’s not a single weak link in this which is rare these days. It’s loaded with suspense and twists which keep you on your toes the entire feature once shit hits the fan in Till Death for Emma. This is available on Netflix right now if you want to check it out before considering a purchase, RECOMMENDED!!!!!

Let’s talk about the high definition presentation from Screen Media! This 1080p (2.35:1) transfer looks great for a smaller production on a limited budget. It has a few different audio options which includes English: LPCM 2.0 and English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 on the disc. This one packs a bigger punch than you would expect when it comes to the audio. All of the dialogue is crystal clear, the thrills are elevated, and the music has a nice boost to it. It also has English SDH subtitles. It has an almost 7 minute “The Making of Till Death” feature. It has interviews with director S.K. Dale, star Megan Fox, other cast members, and some of the crew. It has some behind the scenes footage from the set in there. There’s no other extras on this home video release besides a few “Trailers”. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
