The Fix Blu Ray Review (Gravitas Ventures)

The Fix is an 2024 independent science fiction film written, produced, and directed by Kelsey Egan (I Carry You Always, Glasshouse, Red Herring, Gargoyle, and The Bull). It was produced by Greig Buckle (Lord of War, Starship Troopers 3, The Last House on the Left, and The Scorpion King: Book of Souls) and 9 others. In a future with extreme toxic air. She’s the new face for AIRemedy advertising. A model named Ella McPhee (played by: Grace Van Dien from Stranger Things, The Village, Charlie Says, Patient Seven, V for Vengeance, and The Binge) takes a stolen drug after catching her boyfriend and best friend hooking up at a party causing a bold new transformation for the angry girl. She desperately tries to reverse it but she quickly learns her added mutations could save humanity after all their deadly sacrifices!!!! The Fix plays on the recent covid outbreaks. Everyone has to wear a mask to protect themselves from the dangerous mysteries that they could be breathing in. It has a cool and stylish Post Apocalyptic setting so The Fix looks great. It has a panic type atmosphere and it goes with it’s concept perfectly. It starts out as a drama but it turns into thriller soon after. It tries to be a non stop adrenaline rush, it has a solid amount of action and chaos to it. Grace Van Dien is pretty good lead here as Ella McPhee. She’s a model trying to survive in this risky environment. She accidentally catches her boyfriend cheating on her with her best friend when she tries to surprise him at a party. He just stole an experimental drug from some nasty people. She steals it from him and she takes it all to numb herself from her current pain. Character actor Clancy Brown (The Shawshank Redemption) has a very small role as The Chairman. He’s more in the background, a commanding voice or a hologram for the most part in The Fix. The rest of the supporting cast includes Daniel Sharman (Fear the Walking Dead), Aidan Scott (Action Point), Ryan Kruger (Street Trash), Natalie Robbie (Raised by Wolves), Chris Fisher (Black Sails), and Keenan Arrison (Dominion). The Fix is one of the more unique science fiction features in the independent world. It honestly looks like a bigger budget production. Every single department used their money wisely. The Fix is better than expected. It’s really entertaining and the suspense keeps it fun for it’s entire running time, RECOMMENDED!!!! Let’s discuss this high definition presentation from Gravitas Ventures! This 1080p (2.35:1) transfer looks impressive on blu ray. It has excellent cinematography and it’s highly visual production design really stands out. It has a English: Dolby Digital 5.1 track. It’s a very loud feature, the audio is great here. All of the dialogue is very clean, the thrills are elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. Unfortunately, there’s no extras on this disc. This is a M.O.D (BD-R) home video release. It’s available everywhere right now including MovieZyng.com, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
