The Dinner Party is a 2020 horror thriller co-written, produced, and directed by Miles Doleac (Hallowed Ground, Open, Demons, The Hollow, The Historian, and Demigod). It was co-written by Michael Donovan Horn (Bone Face and Demigod). Respected surgeon and culinary enthusiast Carmine Braun (played by: Bill Sage from American Psycho, Mysterious Skin, Boiler Room, Wrong Turn, Fender Bender, We Are What We Are, Boardwalk Empire, and Power) invites struggling playwright Jeffrey Duncan (played by: Mike Mayhall from A House Divided, In the Shadows, The Walking Dead, and Universal Soldier: Day of Reckoning) and his beautiful wife Haley (played by: Alli Hart from Promising Young Woman, Bone Face, and Blood of Drago) to join his exclusive secret dinner party. They meet his eccentric friends which includes Sebastian (played by: Sawandi Wilson from General Hospital, Star Trek: Discovery, and The House of Flowers), Sadie (played by: Lindsay Anne Williams from Bone Face, Demigod, and Hallowed Ground), Agatha (played by: Kamille McCuin from Twisted Metal, Mayfair Witches, and Scream Queens), and Vincent (played by: Miles Doleac from Renfield, Vanquish, Lovecraft Country, and The Purge) when they get settled in. The powerful Carmine promises to finance Duncan’s upcoming play on Broadway. As the evening descends into extreme madness, the group’s true intentions are revealed to the surprised guests. They must figure out a way to survive the night and earn their money to fulfill all their dreams before it turns into a nightmare!!!! 
The Dinner Party grabbed my attention right away with it’s concept. This horror thriller gets weirder as it plays out and I’m down with it. The script is packed with suspense, madness, and twists. Actor Miles Doleac delivers his best feature behind the camera with The Dinner Party. Veteran character actor Bill Sage always comes correct when it comes to being a villain and Carmine Braun is no different. He’s a powerful doctor that does whatever he wants and he gets away some questionable things because of it. Sage takes control every time he’s on screen here, I’m shocked that he’s not used more in bigger productions these days. Mike Mayhall does a good job as the unlikable Jeffrey Duncan. He’s only there to use these guests and he treats his wife like shit for the most part. Sawandi Wilson is the flashy and flamboyant Sebastian. He never hides his dark side from the beginning and you can instantly tell something is wrong with him. Alli Hart is the biggest surprise as Haley in The Dinner Party. She really developes as a character in this and she goes through a complete change. The rest of the supporting cast includes Miles Doleac, Kamille McCuin, Lindsay Anne Williams, Hollis Ellzey (Hallowed Ground), Jeremy London (Mallrats), Ritchie Montgomery (Lisa Frankenstein), and Sherri Eakin (Hayride franchise). The ladies are not shy at all in The Dinner Party. It has some eye candy in it. You have to be a little patient with this but it’s totally worth the wait. I just love how it consistently gets more wild as the night continues. The guests meet the real hosts after a little bit and they are not what they seem at all. There’s a few surprises thrown in the mix to keep the tension going. The Dinner Party gets extreme with it’s violence, gore, and kills. The special fx really improve these insane situations that take place in this. It was so much better than I thought it was going to be. It was very dark, thrilling, entertaining, and lots of fun. It definitely has strong replay value to it. I liked that it teased a future sequel which would be a blast. It’s currently streaming on Tubi if you are curious about it. RECOMMENDED!!!!! 
Let’s discuss this high definition presentation and special features from Uncork’D Entertainment! This 1080p (2:39.1) transfer looks fantastic on blu ray especially for it’s simple and main location for it. They used the house to all it’s visual advantages and it really pops on the screen. The cinematography, production design, special fx, and locations add to it’s suspenseful atmosphere. It has a English: Dolby Digital 5.1 and English: Dolby Digital 2.0 tracks on the disc. The audio is solid for this independent horror feature especially when it all spins out of control . All of the dialogue is crystal clear, the tension is elevated, and the music has a huge boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has little over 8 minutes of “Behind the Scenes”. It has interviews with the main cast. They introduce their characters and explain their roles for the film. It has all kinds of footage from the production here. It’s a quick little inside look into the horror thriller. It has the “Trailer” for The Dinner Party. It has a variety of “Trailers” from Uncork’D. This is a M.O.D (BD-R) home video release.
