The Crisis on Infinite Earths crossover episodes is probably the best superhero television ever made & each one is included on this release besides the Supergirl one which was the original one that started it all when it came to this epic story. It features all the other current major characters from all the other CW DC Comics shows like Flash, Green Arrow, Black Lightning, Batwoman, Legends of Tomorrow, Superman, Lois Lane, Martian Manhunter, Black Canary, & Frost all together in one massive event. This 5 episode showcase alone is worth the purchase of this Season 5 release & checking out the latest adventures from Supergirl. Supergirl is actually one of the better female superhero television shows produced & each season improves so I’ve been very impressed with it so far. Melissa Benoist is a great lead plus she’s great eye candy. This series has some DC Comics characters that rarely get used featured in it. I am a big fan of Martian Manhunter, it’s awesome to see him actually have big role here. When Jon Cryer was first announced as supervillain Lex Luthor, I definitely had my doubts but he proved me wrong here. 5 is loaded with all kinds of interesting story lines & arcs, you never know what’s going to happen with this one especially with all the different villains in this. It has some nice action, visuals, & replay value. The DC universe is all about female power now with this, Stargirl, & Batwoman all getting their own adaptations on TV. RECOMMENDED!!!!
Let’s discuss the special features from Warner Bros on this 5 disc set! It has the little over 51 minute “The Best of DC TV’s Comic-Con Panels San Diego 2019”. If you are a fan of the Arrowverse & the DC CW shows, you are going to love this one. It’s the best bonus feature from the actual Supergirl release. It has a little bit of everything in it when it comes to the DC Comics television universe. Lots of familiar faces chat about their shows here, It has a little over 20 minutes of “Deleted Scenes” spread across 4 discs from this home video release. It does have some interesting stuff but I can see why most of it was cut from the final episodes for the show. It’s still a nice extra to have on here. It has an almost 8 minute funny & entertaining “Gag Reel”. It shows the cast having fun on the set with some silly mistakes during their shoot.
It also includes the Crisis on Infinite Earths bonus disc which features all 5 episodes for the massive superhero television event that were seen on Legends of Tomorrow, Batwoman, The Flash, Arrow, & this series. It also has it’s own set of extras for the DC Comics crossover. “Crisis Past and Present: Kevin Conroy Bat Legend” is a little over 3 minutes. It focuses on the legendary animated voice for Batman became involved with this. “Crisis on Infinite Earths: The Architects Return” is almost 12 minutes. They go over the original source & comic books that inspired this major television event. They explain how they made it work with the current events of the DC CW universe, “Crisis Past and Present – Superman vs. Superman” is a little over 4 minutes. This one is awesome, it takes a look at an actor reprising an iconic role for this DC Comics crossover. “Characters in Crisis: Pariah” is a little over 4 minutes. They highlight the story from the comic & how they transferred it onto to television. “Crisis Management” is a little over 13 minutes. The creative minds behind the shows including the show creators & writers chat about bringing all these worlds together for this epic story. “Character in Crisis: The Anti-Monitor” is almost 5 minutes. It goes over how the villain works out on television compared to the comics. It also includes a slipbox & a digital code. This should be added to your superhero television collection ASAP. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
