Sniper: No Nation DVD Review (Sony Pictures)

Sniper: No Nation (aKa Sniper 12) is a 2026 action film directed by cinematographer Trevor Calverley (Sniper: The Last Stand, Slumber Party Massacre, Leprechaun Returns, The Banana Splits Movie, and Lake Placid: Legacy) in his directorial debut. It was co-produced and written by Sean Wathen (Sniper: The Last Stand, Escape the Field, A Chrismystery, and Apple). It was executive produced by Lance Samuels (Sniper: The Last Stand, The Banana Splits Movie, Leprechaun Returns, Critters Attack!, Lake Placid: Legacy, and Slumber Party Massacre). It follows the other 11 films in the Sniper franchise and currently Sniper: No Nation Part II is in development. After a covert operation goes wrong, the G.R.I.T. team is branded as terrorists by the U.S. government. It forces Zero (played by: Ryan Robbins from the Sniper franchise, Riverdale, Battlestar Galactica, Warcraft, Mortal Kombat: Legacy, Falling Skies, and Arrow), Brandon Beckett (played by: Chad Michael Collins from the Sniper franchise, Lake Placid 2, Creepshow, Company of Heroes, and NCIS), and his father Thomas Beckett (played by: Tom Berenger from the Sniper franchise, Training Day, Platoon, Major League franchise, The Big Chill, and The Dogs of War) to lead an off-the-books mission to save their captured allies from the Iron Legion!!!! Sniper: No Nation follows the familiar formula of the previous Sniper films so the audience knows exactly what to expect with this 12th sequel to one of the longest running action franchises of all time. They do have all their own missions but they keep to the same action packed atmosphere that the fan base loves from these direct to video productions so the script sticks to all of the basics in this universe. Long time DP Trevor Calverley finally gets behind the camera for his debut. He’s extremely skilled and he has worked on so many known franchises over the years including this one with Sniper: The Last Stand. Lead actor Chad Michael Collins has taken over the Sniper world as the main hero these days. He could do this Brandon Beckett role in his sleep because he’s mastered this leader personality for the last 9 efforts. It’s the perfect type of character for Chad Michael Collins and he shines in these chaotic situations. The talented Tom Berenger is back as the original sniper Thomas Beckett. He’s awesome as this legendary bad ass that never backs down. He’s getting older but it’s still one shot one kill. He might not show up in all of these sequels but when he does it’s so much better. His presence is always felt in this dangerous world. He just puts respect on these independent projects and he consistently delivers. Ryan Robbins as Zero is just as important as his teammate Brandon Beckett at this point. He’s been in most of these entertaining films over the years. He can thrown down or kill but he is hilarious. He provides some comedy relief when it gets too serious. The chemistry between all 3 is very solid and it’s fun to watch them join forces for No Nation. The rest of the supporting cast includes Brandon Auret (Chappie), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Shane John Kruger (The Watch), Dominique Maher (Warrior), Manuel Rodriguez-Saenz (Sniper: The Last Stand), Sizo Mahlangu (Sniper: The Last Stand), Clayton Evertson (Sniper: The Last Stand), Masasa Mbangeni (Machine Gun Preacher), Stephanie Hough (Resident Evil: The Final Chapter), Jason K. Ralph (Abraham Lincoln), Natasha Mayet (Good Luck, Have Fun, Don’t Die), Gérard Rudolf (Devil’s Peak), Nico Panagio (Die Testament), Suraya Rose Santos (Street Trash), Tamer Burjaq (Dredd), and Thomas Semeraro (China Salesman). I appreciate that several characters return from the previous Sniper: The Last Stand for this newer follow up. It makes sure to connect it to what happened before this. Sniper: No Nation is loaded with fights, bullets flying, death, and non stop action. The team is put through all kinds of obstacles to get through to accomplish their risky goals. Everything was going right for them until the end hits the viewers with some shockers. Plus I didn’t see any information about this being a part 1 so the finale is a real surprise and it leaves on a cliffhanger. I enjoyed that it actually caught me off guard. Let’s be real, Sniper: No Nation is nothing new or groundbreaking when it comes to the Sniper series but it delivers on what you would expect from something like this. It keeps itself entertaining and it’s on the edge until it’s over. I’m already excited about the next one, RECOMMENDED!!!! Let’s discuss this standard definition presentation from Sony Pictures in association with Destination Films and Blue Ice Pictures! This (2.00:1) Anamorphic Widescreen transfer looks really good for being only a DVD. This lower budget production knows exactly what to focus on here. It has so much action, violence, fights, and bullets when it comes to it’s sharp visuals. It has an English 5.1 Dolby Digital track on the disc. It sounds amazing when it comes to the audio considering everything that takes place in Sniper. All of the dialogue is crisp, the chaos is elevated, and the music has a nice boost to it. It has English SDH, Spanish, and French subtitles. There’s no special features here. This is a professionally made on demand DVD-R home video release. It’s the action series that’s going to last forever apparently and I am down with it. It’s available everywhere right now including MovieZyng.com, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
