Redux Redux DVD Review (Sony Pictures)

Redux Redux is a 2025 sci-fi crime film written/produced/directed by Kevin McManus and Matthew McManus (The Block Island Sound, Funeral Kings, My Brother’s Treasure, and Front Page). It was produced by Michael J. McGarry (Stargate Origins, Send Help, Don’t Look Deeper, 13 Cameras, and The Wolf of Snow Hollow). It grossed $4,837 during it’s limited theatrical run. In an attempt to avenge her daughter’s death, Irene Kelly (played by: Michaela McManus from The Block Island Sound, Into the Grizzly Maze, Aquarius, Awake, SEAL Team, and Memory of a Killer) travels through parallel universes where she kills her daughter’s murderer Neville (played by: Jeremy Holm from Blackout, House of Cards, Mr. Robot, and The Ranger) over and over again. She grows addicted to the revenge streak which ends up putting her own humanity in serious jeopardy!!!! Redux Redux is one of the hidden gems of 2026 despite barely having much of a run in theaters for the year. It hit a few film festivals and the Internet in late 2025 before all of that but it still flew under the radar. I’ve only seen The Block Island Sound from The McManus brothers before this but that was really good and this was even better so I’m very impressed with this duo behind the camera so far. The script is really creative and it’s a total blast for it’s unique concept. Multiverse has mainly only been used in comic book movies over the last few years but Redux Redux puts it in a crime thriller setting which is awesome. The sister of the directors, Michaela McManus gets her first starring role as the ambitious Irene Kelly. She wanted revenge for her daughter, it felt so good that she keeps coming back to relive this real life monster’s death in various ways. It helps her grieve from the tragedy with her child. She doesn’t expect to be able to save her or fix the situation but it’s a hopeful dream for someday. It’s a brave performance that always has the audience rooting for her retribution. Character actor Jeremy Holm is great as the evil serial killer Neville. He has already portrayed a memorable villain in The Ranger so Redux Redux is a quality addition to his filmography. He plays unlikable with ease and he knows exactly how to get to the viewer every time even after getting killed over and over which is crazy. The vicious kidnapper really stands out in this and he’s always a threat so death is never guaranteed. Holm has always been underrated, it’s cool to see him get bigger roles these days. The rest of the supporting cast includes Stella Marcus (The Return to Why), Jim Cummings (The Last Stop in Yuma County), Grace Van Dien (Stranger Things), Taylor Misiak (Dave), Debra Christofferson (Carnivàle), Dendrie Taylor (Sons of Anarchy), Ely Henry (The Boys), Dan Perrault (Strays), Jerod Haynes (Chicago Med), Raphael Chestang (The Pitt), Minita Gandhi (Chicago Fire), Juan Francisco Villa (Blue Bloods), and Angel Dillemuth (Luke Cage). Redux Redux is like Groundhog Day meets Eye for an Eye. The main character keeps meeting the same people every time during this violent journey. She always remembers them but it’s not the same for them so it makes things a little more interesting here. Redux Redux is gruesome at times and I love every single moment of it. It doesn’t really repeat and it keeps each time pretty damn original. I liked it better when it mainly Irene, Mia becomes heavily involved later on and it starts to feel more like a road film for some of it. The ending is perfect and it actually ties everything together nicely. Redux Redux is very entertaining, special, and pure adrenaline rush. It’s highly underrated at this point, it needs more attention because it truly deserves it. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!!! Let’s discuss this standard definition presentation from Sony Pictures in association with Saban Films! This (2.39:1) Anamorphic Widescreen transfer looks way better than expected for being only a DVD especially considering it’s a very low budget production. It has stylish cinematography, quality production design, great locations, and impressive special fx when it comes to it’s sharp visuals. It has an English 5.1 Dolby Digital track on the disc. It has plenty of action, suspense, kills, and violence when it comes to standing out for the audio. All of the dialogue is crystal clear, the vengeance is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has English SDH and French subtitles. There’s no extras featured here.
