Jessica Fletcher (played by: Angela Lansbury from The Manchurian Candidate, Death on the Nile, Muntity, The Grinch, The Lady Vanishes, Blue Hawaii, and The Company of Wolves) is a mystery writer and she acts as an amateur detective who is always quick to outwit both criminals and the police when it comes to solving murders in a variety of odd scenarios that take place in Maine!!!! Murder, She Wrote follows crime author Jessica Fletcher who always seems to get herself involved in all of the local crimes and mysteries around her. She just can’t help it, it’s in her nature. This television series lasted a long time during it’s successful run. It had all kinds of talent involved when it came to acting, directing, writing, and every other department for the ambitious production. Angela Lansbury is fantastic as the talented writer that’s always one step ahead of everyone. She knows from her experience and creative mind that helps her close some things wild unsolved cases. Murder, She Wrote continues to air on TV and getting new fans everyday for it’s syndication runs. Jessica Fletcher is such a unique character. She’s just a normal person with a great imagination and feel for dark stuff like this. She is dedicated to solving crime and she always put it before her personal life. Murder, She Wrote is definitely a time capsule back into the 80’s. It had a little bit of everything for everyone. It relates to all kinds of different audiences. Some of the twists and surprises were a little predictable at times but it was still fun and always entertaining. It’s really impressive how long Murder, She Wrote survived on network television considering how fast stuff gets cancelled these days, RECOMMENDED!!!! There’s so much material to watch on this box set that it’s crazy and it will keep you entertained for a long time. The TV show and movies all look better than ever on home video for this complete series collection. It has English: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 tracks on all 62 discs for this home video release. The amazing audio is much better than expected. It has some really nice moments throughout all those years. The dialogue is very clean, the mystery is elevated, and the music has a nice boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has the crossover episode with Magnum P.I. plus all it’s television movies which includes Murder, She Wrote: South by Southwest, Murder, She Wrote: A Story to Die For, Murder, She Wrote: The Last Free Man, and Murder, She Wrote: The Celtic Riddle. It has so many different extras which includes The Great 80s Flashback, Origins of the series, Recipe for a Hit, America’s Top Sleuths and The Perils of Success. It has a variety of interviews with the cast and crew over the years. It has some behind the scenes stuff from all the years this was being made. It has a variety of promotional material for the series. It has 13 different cases in a high quality slip box. It’s currently streaming on Peacock if you want to check it out or revisit it.
