Isleen Pines Blu Ray Review (3 Keys Media)

Isleen Pines is a 2024 horror comedy film written/shot/produced/directed by Matthew Festle (Hacked franchise, Found Footage of Fear, Jason Thunder: Double Feature, and Flick Fanatics) and Alexys Paonessa (Party of Darkness). A group of friends keep the tradition of their annual Halloween party. They have a nice variety of costumes but it’s about to get more interesting as the night goes on. Mysterious visitors show up to their get together and the event turns into something unexpected!!!! Isleen Pines is centered around a Halloween party where close friends are forced to deal with more than a typical gathering. It has a great atmosphere, I just love the vibe of this low budget feature. The cast has good chemistry together and they really do feel like a legit group of friends. It goes from a good time to a disaster with some surprises in it. The cast includes Naiia Lajoie (The Gingerweed Man), Darren Deng (2128), Jackson Turner (Meathook Massacre Part VI: Bloodline), Jeremiah Benjamin (Axegrinder 5: Blood Vengeance), Alan Maxson (V/H/S/Beyond), Justin Armao (Strange Days), Jessica Blue (Blade: The Iron Cross), Kimi Valdivia (The Lurker), Melissa Falcetano (Psycho Night), Auzi Capri (Amityville Bigfoot), Matthew Festle (Apex Predators), Scott Alan Ward (Craving), Michael Della Pia (Wolf Hollow), August Kyss (Murdercise), and Brian Bell (Arena Wars). Respected character actor Glenn Plummer (Speed franchise, Showgirls, Strange Days, Sons of Anarchy, Suits, South Central, Trespass, E.R., Colors, and Saw II) even shows up here which was nice to see. The tone gets darker as Isleen Pines comes to it’s conclusion. It has some solid science fiction elements thrown in and it feels like a sequel could be possible someday. The comedy has some hilarious but it manages to still have some entertaining violence thrown into the mix. Isleen Pines is very fun and entertaining, it has kinda flew under the radar so hopefully it gets more attention later on!!!! This 1080p (2.39:1) unrated transfer looks great especially for being an independent production with a very small budget. The visuals, production design, and cinematography really shine here. It has an English: Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The audio is solid, the soundtrack mainly stands out for it. All of the dialogue is very clean, the Halloween vibes are elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has the full length “The StoryBoard Cut”. It has all the storyboards as the main feature with the actual scenes above in the corner for comparison. This is really original, I’ve never seen anyone else do this before. It has a little over 6 minutes of “Auditions” from various cast members. It has a little over 8 minutes of “Clown Outtakes”. It some interesting extended stuff from the movie. It has the 4 minute “8-Bit Banjo” music video directed by Bip Henderson. It has the little over 2 minute “L.A. Premiere BTS”. This is mainly photos with some music in the background. It has some additional behind the scenes footage from the screening. It comes with a promotional card for the movie . This is a M.O.D (BD-R) home video release. It’s currently streaming on Tubi.
