Grizzly Night Blu Ray Review (Well Go USA)

Grizzly Night is a 2026 thriller produced and directed by Burke Doeren (The Possible Life). It was written by Katrina Mathewson (Hawkeye, Dexter: Resurrection, Dexter: Original Sin, Pitch, and Versus) and Tanner Bean (Dexter: Resurrection, Christmas Ever After, Jury Duty Presents: Company Retreat, Dexter: Original Sin, and Hawkeye). It was executive produced by Ryan Bury (Easter Bloody Easter, Don’t Die, Captive, Woodland, Limbo, Just Breathe, and American Rackets). It had an estimated budget of $3,000,000. Based on true events, it follows a rookie park ranger Joan Devereaux (played by: Lauren Call from We Love You, Sally Carmichael! and Places) is thrust into the desperate fight of her life when Glacier National Park becomes the scene of multiple deadly grizzly attacks. As panic spreads and communication breaks down, she must lead a group of frightened strangers through the darkness. They are confronting both the untamed wilderness and her own personal fears. What begins as a quiet summer evening turns into a survival night of chaos that changes the nation’s understanding of wildlife forever!!!! Grizzly Night is inspired from real life events. There’s more than one dreadful event for the grizzly bears when Glacier National Park is put into total fear as bloodshed is left and people end up missing from it. Newcomer Burke Doeren is behind the camera for this survival thriller that pits humans against deadly animals. The script starts out with a brutal opening to set everything up then it takes a little bit to build up the thrills and violence. Lead actress Lauren Call is mainly known for shorts steps into her biggest role so far the rookie Joan Devereaux. She’s new to being a park ranger but she’s put into a rough scenario where she has to act fast to protect her community. She holds her own and she gives a real brave performance as the unlikely hero. Veteran actor Oded Fehr (The Mummy franchise, Resident Evil franchise, Deuce Bigalow franchise, Sleeper Cell, and Batman: The Brave and the Bold) shows up as Dr. John Lindberg. He’s the medical experiment at the wrong place at the wrong time. He uses his unique skills to help some of the victims during this unforgettable night of terror. Josh Zuckerman (Feast, Surviving Christmas, Oppenheimer, Austin Powers in Goldmember, and Sex Drive) is one of the campers Robert Klein that’s trapped in this mess. He’s the only other known name besides Oded from previous bigger film projects. The rest of the supporting cast includes Charles Esten (Nashville), Brec Bassinger (Stargirl), Joel Johnstone (The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Jack Griffo (Batman and Superman: Battle of the Super Sons), Matt Lintz (The Walking Dead), Ali Skovbye (Smallville), Sohm Kapila (Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom), Laura Schein (Weeds), Skyler Bible (The Book of Boba Fett), Michael Vlamis (Roswell, New Mexico), Jacob Buster (Let the Right One In), Brandon Ray Olive (Mosaic), and Sarah Summers (Monster). This isn’t 1976’s Grizzly or Cocaine Bear like it’s trailer seems to hint at. Grizzly Night is honestly more of a survival drama with some horror and suspense elements thrown in the mix. All of the attacks are spaced out so it’s not really like non stop gore or violence here. It still has a solid flow and pace to it, I never felt bored with Grizzly Night. It’s not over the top, it always feels natural when anything crazy happens. It lets all of the tension get some momentum before it strikes. The special fx are very impressive when they appear. This tragedy caused parks to take protective actions and make sure all of their locations were safer so this wouldn’t happen again. Grizzly Night treats the Bears more as a mystery, kinda like what Spielberg did with Jaws. It makes the impact way stronger when the vicious animal shows up. It respects the true story, it doesn’t add fake stuff just for more entertainment value. It’s a quality feature about doing whatever it takes to make it out alive. There’s documentaries and various other things that are dedicated to this nightmare night from August 12th in 1967 if you want to see more about this but this independent production did it justice. It’s an interesting look at people stepping up when they are put to the test, RECOMMENDED!!!! Let’s discuss this high definition presentation from Well Go USA! This 1080p (2.39:1) transfer looks amazing on home video. The beautiful locations and the stylish cinematography stand out the most when it comes to the sharper visuals. It has an English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and English: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 tracks on the disc. The audio sounds fantastic during it’s intense moments and the score just makes those even better. All of the dialogue is crystal clear, the thrills are elevated, and the music has a massive boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has the “Trailer” for Grizzly Night.
