Forever Majestic is a 2021 documentary film directed by Michael Schwarz (Shutter: A Majestic Hotel Story, Weather or Not, Late Fees: In 2D, and Page Woodson/Douglass High School – Second Chance). It was written by Ethan Cvitanic (Hit Record and The Director’s Cut). It was produced by Ella Hatamian (Nightmare Code, Nobody May Come, They Call Us Monsters, and Homemakers). It had an estimated budget of $5,000. For a smaller town like Hot Springs, Arkansas, The Majestic held an important place in the collective memory of it’s history. Despite a variety of different owners and so many promises to renovate, the iconic location would sit empty and it unfortunately ended up mysteriously catching on fire in 2014. Is it gone forever????Forever Majestic is a full length documentary that’s inspired by director Michael Schwarz’s own 2015 short Shutter: A Majestic Hotel Story. It follows two activists from Hot Spring, Arkansas that fight for the almost forgotten Majestic Hotel at this point. They go over it’s history and it’s important existence in their local community. It opened up so many opportunities and jobs for it’s city. It really helped them survive at the time. They break down it’s fascinating past and what made the location stand out for all those years. It covers it’s many struggles with different people taking over. It brings up it’s shady and controversial fire that eliminated the cherished local landmark. Something never felt right about that accident that burned everything down. It focuses on The Majestic being abandoned for 10 years. It shows the different sides of the community that represents Arkansas that has the power to either resurrect it or completely demolish the hotel for good. These activists battle to preserve The Majestic and bring it back to it’s locals!!!! Let’s discuss this home video release from Gravitas Ventures! The documentary looks better than expected on it’s blu ray debut. The audio is solid for what it is, it’s not going to test your home set up but it does it’s job here. Unfortunately, there’s no special features on this disc. This is a M.O.D (BD-R) home video release. It’s available everywhere right now including MovieZyng.com, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
