Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is a 2025 horror film directed by Emma Tammi (Five Nights at Freddy’s, Into the Dark, The Left Right Game, and The Wind). It was written and produced by Scott Cawthon (Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise). It was produced by Jason Blum (Five Nights at Freddy’s, Black Phone franchise, Get Out, M3gan franchise, Night Swim, Insidious franchise, Halloween franchise, Freaky, The Craft: Legacy, Split/Glass, and The Hunt). It’s based on the popular video game series and a follow up to 2023’s Five Nights at Freddy’s. There’s a 3rd film currently in development. The budget is $51,000,000 and it grossed $238,476,616 worldwide at the box office!!!! One year after the supernatural nightmare at Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, Mike (played by: Josh Hutcherson from Five Nights at Freddy’s, The Hunger Games franchise, The Beekeeper, Red Dawn, and Future Man) and Vanessa (played by: Elizabeth Lail from Five Nights at Freddy’s, You, Countdown, and Ordinary Joe) after keeping the dark secret away from her. A shocking new chapter of terror begins when Abby (played by: Piper Rubio from Five Nights at Freddy’s, For all Mankind, and Project u Move) runs away in search of her animatronic friends: Freddy (voiced by: Kellen Goff from My Hero Academia, JoJo’s Bizarre Adventure, and Record of Ragnarok), Bonnie (voiced by: Matthew Patrick from Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise, Escape the Night, and Transformers: Titans Return), Chica (voiced by: Megan Fox, from the Transformers franchise, Jennifer’s Body, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, and Subservience), and Foxy (voiced by: Kellen Goff from Five Nights at Freddy’s franchise , Berserk, and 5 Years Later). As terrifying events begin to unfold, dark secrets about the true origin of Freddy’s are revealed, unleashing a forgotten horror hidden away for decades!!!! Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 is much different than it’s original film. It goes back to it’s origins and it explores some darker territory. It definitely caters to hardcore FNAF fans so it might not make as much sense to casual viewers to be honest. The script is solid but it doesn’t feel fully developed like the previous one. Piper Rubio gets a bigger role as Abby in this sequel. Her curiosity gets her in so much trouble in this. Josh Hutcherson, Elizabeth Lail, Theodus Crane (Sinners), Michael P. Sullivan (Twisted Metal), and Matthew Lillard (Five Nights at Freddy’s, Scooby-Doo franchise, SLC Punk!, Hackers, Scream, and Thir13en Ghosts) all come back to reprise their roles. It’s awesome to see them back in this wild universe. Each one eases their way back into their characters. They all elevate this follow up with their presence and it’s one of the main reasons to give this a shot. The rest of the supporting cast includes Matthew Patrick, Kellen Goff, Megan Fox, Skeet Ulrich (Scream), Wayne Knight (Seinfeld), Freddy Carter (Pennyworth), Mckenna Grace (Scream 7), Teo Briones (Chucky), Han Soto (Cobra Kai), Ann Mahoney (Suitable Flesh), and Billy Slaughter (Mayfair Witches). I thought it was kinda cool to have Scream alumni Matthew Lillard and Skeet Ulrich in the same movie again after all these years. It’s not as bad as it’s reputation, I actually might enjoy it a little more than the original. I still wish they would have went with Rated R for both of these films because they feel slightly watered down during the crazier moments. It’s all about that box office money but it has potential to be so much more. Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 focuses more on jump scares, horror, and visuals rather than a complicated story. It’s mainly a set-up for the next one. It’s all over the place but it’s very fun and entertaining. RECOMMENDED!!!! This 2160p (2.00:1) transfer with Dolby Vision and HDR10 looks top notch on home video. It’s one of the best looking releases of the year so far. It has sharp cinematography, excellent production design, and high quality special fx that pop out when it comes to the visuals. It has a few different audio options which includes English: Dolby Atmos, English: Dolby TrueHD 7.1, Spanish: Dolby Digital Plus 7.1, and French (Canada): Dolby Digital Plus 7.1 tracks on the UHD. The audio is fantastic for this horror sequel. It’s packed with all kinds of thrilling scenarios and situations. All of the dialogue is crisp, the chaos is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has English SDH, French, and Spanish subtitles. It has the little over 12 minute “Employees of the Month: The Cast”. It has interviews with the main cast and crew. They all talk about being excited about coming back to the franchise. They say these movies are all about the fan base. They go over the characters and what they do here. It has a variety of clips and behind the scenes footage in this. It has the almost 10 minute “Bringing Freddy and Friends to Life”. It has interviews with some of same as the previous extra plus some additional participants. It shows appreciation for the villains and the overall look of the characters. The special fx group gets their respect for all of their quality work. It has the performers that were in the costumes talking about their process and how It was like being built up. It has the almost 5 minute “Mangle Mayhem”. This is dedicated to the addition of Mangle in this follow up. It has a variety of footage while working on this with the classic bad guy. It has the little over 7 minute “High-Strung”. This goes into Marionette character. It shows how they put her together for the sequel and how they made her fully operate. It’s a fun inside look into the monster. It has the little over 10 minute “Sensory Overload: Exploring the Sets”. This gives the production design and main locations some shine. They go over how it makes this world unique and feel like it’s from the game. It’s a quick detailed behind the scenes breakdown of this department. It’s full of easter eggs and homages to the original source material. It comes with a slipcover, a digital code, and a Blu Ray. It’s available everywhere right now in several different versions including this standard 4K, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
