Eleven Days, Eleven Nights 2 (aKa 11 Days, 11 Nights 2 and Web of Desire) is a 1991 softcore film produced, shot, and directed by Joe D’Amato (Absurd, Antropophagus, Death Smiles on a Murderer, Beyond the Darkness, Endgame, Emanuelle franchise, Black Cobra, Tough to Kill, Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, Porno Holocaust, Crazy Nights, Caligula: The Untold Story, Eleven Days, Eleven Nights franchise, and Ator: The Fighting Eagle). D’Amato worked as an uncredited director on such projects as Door Into Silence, The Crawlers, Deep Blood, and Zombie 5: Killing Birds. It was written by Rossella Drudi (The Crawlers, Troll 2, Zombi franchise, Skinheads, Strike Commando franchise, Robowar, Cop Game, Shocking Dark, Night Killer, Beyond Darkness, Hell of the Living Dead, Monster Dog, Rats: Night of Terror, and Double Target). The erotic franchise includes 1987’s Eleven Days, Eleven Nights, 1988’s Top Model, 1988’s Eleven Days, Eleven Nights: Dirty Love, 1989’s Eleven Days, Eleven Nights: Hot Afternoons, 1994’s The House of Pleasure, and 1994’s The Labyrinth of Love. A young woman named Sarah Asproon (played by: Kristine Rose from Batman Returns, Total Exposure, Auntie Lee’s Meat Pies, To Sleep with a Vampire, and Demonic Toys) has to act as the executor for the will of her ex-lover Lionel Durrington (played by: James Jackson) who happens to be the richest man in Louisiana. To ensure that the heir is honorable and worthy, she must work her way through all of the candidates to decide who the fortune must go to. As she meets and sleeps with each one, she uncovers some really dark family secrets that could change everything!!!! The original Eleven Days, Eleven Nights was simply made to rip-off 1986’s 9½ Weeks. Somehow it turned into a complete profitable series that spawned a total of 7 movies over the years. It was directed by the master of sleaze Joe D’Amato who was responsible for some really good Italian horror and action films earlier for his work. During the end of his career from 1994 to 1999 before he passed away, he only made either softcore or X-rated material so he knew this sub-genre better than almost anyone. What really stands out for Eleven Days, Eleven Nights 2 is the fact that it actually has a solid story and narrative plot beside just being just all about sex. It’s actually not a surprise that it turned out better than most softcore movies because it was written by the legendary Italian screenwriter Rossella Drudi so it actually feels like a film. The sexy Kristine Rose is perfect for this type of feature as Sarah Asproon. She’s the lead that uncovers some crazy information about this powerful family and it creates chaos around them. She plays the game better than anyone else trying to get this money. She’s top notch eye candy, she’s friendly with almost every damn male in this so she keeps busy. Lionel Durrington appears in his only role as the wealthy Lionel Durrington. He suffers from E.D. and he can only be aroused by voyeurism. He watches his wife cheat over and over. He has access to anyone in the mansion so he spys on everyone during his flashback scenes. He comes off a little creepy but the audience feels bad that he’s been used by his shady wife for all of the possible inheritance. The iconic Laura Gemser (Invaders of the Lost Gold, Violence in a Women’s Prison, Erotic Nights of the Living Dead, Top Model, Dirty Love, Emanuelle franchise, Endgame, and Women’s Prison Massacre) has a blink and you’ll miss it cameo as Sarah’s publisher Jackie Forrest. She also did wardrobe behind the scenes for this. Character actress Ruth Collins (Doom Asylum, Blood Sisters, Witch Academy, Deadly Embrace, Prime Evil, Psychos in Love, and Cemetery High) shows up as Dana Durrington is great as the unfaithful wife that’s motivated by greed. She’s really unlikable and she freely admits that her marriage was all for this payoff which is suspicious. The rest of the cast includes Frederick Lewis, Maurice Dupré, Kristin Cuadraro, Ale Dugas (Top Model), Fred Woodruff, and Garyn Charlet. I will admit that Eleven Days, Eleven Nights 2 has some really odd casting. Half of them only did this film and nothing else. This erotic mystery is full of awful people, almost none of them deserve this inheritance. It kinda plays out like a sleazy version of Greedy. It has lots of nudity and sex scenes but it’s actually more than that. It has solid a mix of drama, tension, and mystery plus it ends with a twist. It has high quality production design, locations, and music. It’s the most professional softcore feature that I’ve ever seen. I’m not an expert on his later porn material at all but apparently it’s considered one of Joe D’Amato’s best when it comes to that type of sexy time production. It’s one of those sequels, that you don’t need to see any previous entry to understand it. It’s not for everyone but it’s highly entertaining and it’s a total blast!!!! This 2160p (1.66:1) uncut transfer with Dolby Vision and HDR10 is from a brand new 4K restoration from the original camera negative. Eleven Days, Eleven Nights 2 is very polished and professional, it looks fantastic for an independent 90’s erotic mystery for this UHD upgrade. It has a few audio options which includes English: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono and Italian: DTS-HD Master Audio 2.0 Mono tracks on the UHD. This not your typical action packed or explosive thriller so the audio really stands out with it’s score from Piero Montanari (Eleven Days, Eleven Nights, Top Model, Ghosthouse, Black Cobra 3, The House of Pleasure, and Frankenstein 2000). All of the dialogue is crisp, the sleaze is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has an “Audio Commentary” with experts Eugenio Ercolani and Nanni Cobretti. It has the little over 40 minute “Filmirage: From Dawn Till Dusk”. It’s an interview with dubbing director Mark Thompson Ashworth. He chats about his history in acting that got him interested in cinema. He was inspired by Barbara Steele. He shows his appreciation for horror. He talks about starting Eyeball Magazine with Stephen Thrower. He moved to Italy and that’s when he really got involved with the industry..He goes over the variety of work that he got for dubbing. It was everything from children’s cartoons to porn. He brings up when he first met director Joe D’Amato and his overall working relationship with him. He tells some funny and honest stories. He gives his thoughts on this softcore sequel. It has the little over 21 minute “Seven Notes, Eleven Nights”. It’s an interview with composer Piero Montanari. He got lucky when he bought a house right next to a movie producer. He chats about starting out and some of his earlier music. He shares his thoughts on exploitation. He goes over how he ended up doing collaborations with Joe D’Amato. He breaks down his process. He created based off of the original temp tracks because that was the exact sound that they were looking for when it came to Eleven Days, Eleven Nights 2. It has the almost 20 minute “Eros In the Plastic Age”. It’s an interview with historian Pierpaolo De Sanctis. It’s very similar to some of his previous conversations on home video releases. He always shows complete respect for the composer. He mentions and breaks down their history of what they have made over the years. He chats about how he came from rock unlike most of his competition that came from jazz. He was considered more of a new generation musician because he got his opportunities mainly during the 80’s. He goes this softcore had more of a narrative than your usual sleaze fest. It has the almost 4 minute “Italian Opening and Closing titles”.
