It’s nice to learn more about the Christmas and Holiday sub-genre. Lots of information and stories you might have heard before especially from previous special features but they are always fun to revisit. They mention some odd plus more unknown stuff like Santa Claus Conquers the Martians, Ms. Scrooge, and Christmas Again that makes you curious to check them out later on which Is cool. They go over some cinema that takes place during the time like Eyes Wide Shut. I love that they bring up several Xmas themed horror features. They show appreciation for the fact that director Bob Clark made two completely different classics for holidays with A Christmas Story and Black Christmas. The Love Actually segment is hilarious with all their vastly opposite views on it. They have a big debate at the end when it comes to the action film Die Hard if it’s a real Xmas film or not. Each person has a different argument or reason for their personal opinions. Let’s be honest, it 100% fits with all of these Christmas movies that are mentioned during this documentary. This 1080p (1.78:1) unrated extended director’s cut looks much better than expected. It takes several different clips from so many movies with completely different quality but it all somehow works together here. It has a few audio options which includes English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 and English: LPCM 2.0 tracks on the disc. It shows everything from comedy, horror, action, romance, drama, family, animation, and action so it’s a solid mix of variety of sub-genres when it comes to Best Christmas Movies Ever. So it does have it’s moments but mainly the music shines the most for the audio. All of the interviews are crisp, the holiday spirit is elevated, and the music has a huge boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. It has an “Audio Commentary” with Mark A. Altman and Scott Manz. It has the almost 29 minutes of “Deleted / Extended Scenes”. There’s so much quality material here. I’m really surprised some of this didn’t make the final cut. It’s really cool extended look from this documentary. It has the almost 41 minute “Best Christmas Movies Ever: Live at Galaxycon”. He chats about some stuff that was cut for the original TV version. He talks about all kinds of Xmas movies. He is very detailed and he goes into so much stuff that was brought up in his movie. He shows a various clips from Best Christmas Movies Ever. It’s a question and answer for the Christmas documentary with the director before it premiered on The CW. It has the “Original Theatrical Trailer”. It has various MVD related “Trailers”. It comes with a slipcover and a mini poster. It’s available everywhere right now, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
