Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn Blu Ray Review (Full Moon Features)
Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn is a 2022 horror film written, produced, production design, and directed by William Butler (Madhouse, Furnace, Demonic Toys: Personal Demons, Gingerdead Man 3, and The Resonator series). It was produced by the legendary Charles Band (The Puppet Master franchise, Trancers franchise, Ghoulies, Troll, Dolls, From Beyond, Demonic Toys franchise, TerrorVision, Castle Freak, and Intruder). Baby Oopsie is a spin off from the Demonic Toys universe. It originally premiered on Full Moon’s streaming before hitting home video, It was a follow up to the first one and it’s sequel Murder Dolls!!!!Time to witness Sybil’s (played by: comedian Libbie Higgins from Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, Baby Oopsie, and Weedjies: Halloweed Night) last gasp effort to take down Oopsie’s evil cabal of Satanic toys while trying to save her neighbor Ray Ray’s (played by: Justin Armistead from Baby Oopsie and Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls) soul. The doll maker is done being nice. This is the big demonic toy smackdown you’ve been waiting for after experiencing the original entry and Murder Dolls. Who will win this brutal battle when it’s all done????
Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn was my least favorite entry from this brand new trilogy featuring the iconic doll Baby Oopsie Daisy from the Demonic Toys universe. I felt like this mini series ran out of gas with this 3rd short feature to be honest. I think if they put together all of them as one actual full length film that it would have been one of the better recent Full Moon Features movies because every chapter from this newer trilogy had it’s moments. Director William Butler is one of the better hired gun film makers on Charles Band’s staff so he tries his best to make it at least fun and everything here. I feel like the two leads since they were so odd and unique from your typical movie main characters worked for the first two mini movies in this franchise but here they definitely worn out their welcome but it just doesn’t work with Burn Baby Burn. Their inexperience really shows here and they can’t carry this one even at it’s very short length. Some of the supporting actors stepped up here and made it a little better. The dolls still look amazing here in Burn Baby Burn and I love the old school practical special fx used here like the other two but this one has much more visual fx in it compared to the previous ones. Unfortunately, that’s something that you don’t really want to use much of if you are a very low budget or a small production like this. It comes off very cheap and distracting rather than something cool to be honest. I didn’t hate Baby Oopsie 3 and it had some decent moments but it just didn’t keep up with the previous ones. Hopefully, this was the last one because I feel like they have done everything that they could with this new entry into the Demonic Toys spin off. If you are a fan of the franchise or these last few movies, it’s still worth checking out but don’t expect much from it.
Let’s talk about the high definition presentation and special features from Full Moon! This 1080p (1.78:1) looks great especially for such a low budget production. It has a few audio options which includes English: Dolby Digital 5.1 and English: Dolby Digital 2.0 on this all region disc. All of the dialogue is crystal clear, the toy terror is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. “Bringing Up Baby Oopsie” is almost 34 minutes. It’s kinda a shorten version of the feature showcasing some of the best scenes from the entire series and this follow up. It has a variety of “Full Moon” trailers on it. It’s available for purchase at Full Moon Direct plus it’s on their streaming service, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
