Baby Oopsie Blu Ray Review (Full Moon Features)

Sybil Pittman (played by: comedian Libbie Higgins from Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn, and Weedjies: Halloweed Night) is a meek and mild mannered doll collector whose only joy in life is restoring old dolls. Harassed by local kids, her boss (played by: Marilyn Bass from Chicago P.D., Chicago Fire, and Every 21 Seconds), and her abusive stepmother (played by: Lynne Acton McPherson from Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls, The Wager, and Improbus). She can only take so much torture and her sanity is starting to slip away. Sybil finds her demoralizing life take a murderous turn with the arrival of the mysterious Baby Oopsie doll. After she broadcasts her restoration, the doll comes alive and it seeks revenge for the bullied woman. Her odd neighbor Ray Ray (played by: Justin Armistead from Baby Oopsie 2: Murder Dolls and Baby Oopsie 3: Burn Baby Burn) doesn’t help this bizarre situation. Is she losing her mind or is it actually real????
Remember the Demonic Toys franchise and movies from back in the day? This is a brand new spin off featuring one of the main killer dolls from those features. Baby Oopsie is actually way better than expected. Former horror actor William Butler (Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood, Night of the Living Dead, Ghoulies II, and Leatherface: Texas Chainsaw Massacre III) has been behind the camera instead of in front of for awhile now. His first few films were really good and he’s the reason this turned out better than it should be. He’s been working with Full Moon Features since his acting days plus he helped produce, production design, and he even did some spiecial fx on older productions (From Beyond, Cellar Dweller, Catacombs, Transformations, and Spellcaster). I love the old school practical fx on Baby Oopsie, it’s loaded with gore and it some decent kills. It’s no surprise that the dolls look great here considering that’s the main thing Full Moon has been known for all these years. Baby Oopsie has an odd cast and it’s definitely not your typical one which makes it stand out a little more. I’ve never heard of Libbie Higgins and Justin Armistead before these films but I noticed both of them are very popular online so they have big followings. This probably explains why the Baby Oopsie series and films are treading above the other horror shorts that Full Moon has been putting out lately. This is very short so it’s an easy watch and it honestly holds your attention the entire time. It’s a pretty fun and entertain entry into the killer toy/doll sub-genre. Like I said before, I ended up enjoying this way more than I thought I would!!!!

Let’s talk about the high definition presentation and special features from Full Moon! This 1080p (1.78:1) looks great especially for such a low budget production. It has a few audio options which includes English: Dolby Digital 5.1 and English: Dolby Digital 2.0 on this all region disc. All of the dialogue is crystal clear, the toy terror is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has the little over 16 minute “Behind the Scenes”. It has a little over 12 minuteĀ “Video Zone”. It has the little over 3 minute “All Dolled Up”. Director William Butler chats about the project. He goes over the origin of it. He talks about the casting of it. It has some interviews with the cast and crew here on these extras. It shows off all kinds of behind the scenes footage. It’s a nice little inside look into the production between these three special features on Baby Oopsie. Plus they promote some upcoming stuff. It’s available for purchase at Full Moon Direct, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
