#AMFAD: All My Friends Are Dead (aKa AMFAD and All My Friends Are Dead) is a 2024 slasher film produced and directed by Marcus Dunstan (The Collector, The Collection, Saw franchise, Feast franchise, Unhuman, and The Neighbor). It was written/produced by Josh Sims (PBC) and Jessica Sarah Flaum (PBC). It grossed $156,188 during it’s limited thesrical run. A group of college friends which includes Sarah (played by: Jade Pettyjohn from The Righteous Gemstones, Destroyer, Monsters, School of Rock, and Deadwood: The Movie), Mona (played by: Jennifer Ens from Chapelwaite and Ransom Canyon), Will (played by: Justin Derickson from Monster High franchise, Recon, and The Midnight Club), L.B. (played by: Julian Haig from Riverdale, Arrow, and Lucifer), Liv (played by: Ali Fumiko Whitney from Cabin Girl, Find Me Falling, and The Road Dance), Aaron (played by: Cardi Wong from Golden Delicious, Supernatural Academy, and Dragged Across Concrete), and Guy (played by: Jack Doupe-Smith from The Irrational and Salad Days) rent an Airbnb for the biggest music festival of the year. Their crazy weekend of partying quickly takes a turn into a living nightmare, as the group is murdered one by one by a mysterious killer, it’s all linked with the seven deadly sins!!!! AMFAD: All My Friends Are Dead is one of the biggest surprises in 2024. It’s an interesting entry for the slasher sub-genre and it’s honestly one of the better horror movies in awhile. Marcus Dunstan is responsible for the Feast franchise, The Collector franchise, and some of the Saw sequels. The script is very tense and it’s full of twists. It’s reminds me of a mix between Saw, Se7en, and lots of throwback slashers from back in the day with a modern vibe to it. Jade Pettyjohn as Sarah is solid as the lead here. She’s the newer member of this close group of friends. She learns about their wild past and tragedies with others. The supporting cast includes Jennifer Ens, Justin Derickson, Julian Haig, Ali Fumiko Whitney, Cardi Wong, Jack Doupe-Smith, JoJo Siwa (JoJo’s Juice), Michaella Russell (Echoes of Violence), Pete Graham (Slap Shot 2), Brahm Taylor (Yellowjackets), Heidi Ben (Batwoman), Peter Giles (The Life and Times of Tim), and Madeline McInnis (Suicide). Just a warning, the highly popular JoJo Siwa gets top billing for this but it’s basically a cameo role. AMFAD: All My Friends has a nice pace and flow to it. It’s very suspenseful and it’s packed with thrills. It definitely delivers when it comes to the kills, gore, and violence. The special fx were great and it has a solid body count. I wasn’t expecting to enjoy it as much as I did, it’s one of my favorites from 2024. I think it kinda flew under the radar for most people but I really hope this review and home video release give it more attention because it deserves it. This is a must watch, check it out. RECOMMENDED!!!! Let’s discuss this high definition presentation from Cineverse! This 1080p (2:39.1) unrated transfer looks great on blu ray especially for what they had to work with. They used their budget wisely for AMFAD and it really shows on the final product. It has stylish cinematography, production design, special fx, and attention grabbing locations. It has a English: Dolby Digital 5.1 track. The audio is great for this independent slasher. All of the dialogue is very clean, the murder spree is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. This is a M.O.D (BD-R) home video release. It’s available everywhere right now including MovieZyng.com, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
