Chris Carter wanted to do something different compared to his science fiction inspired The X-Files. He wanted to do a darker atmosphere and that it would feel very realistic to what was happening in the world at the time. It was treated more like a movie rather than TV when being shot. It goes over the pitch and inspiration of casting the legendary Lance Henriksen as Frank Black. They bring it’s original reactions and how it influenced future productions. After the Millennium has additional conversations with Averie Maddox (The Client), Erin Maher (Swamp Thing), Ted Mann (NYPD Blue), John Kenneth Muir (Nightmares in Red, White and Blue: The Evolution of the American Horror Film), Michael R. I am really surprised that actor Terry O’Quinn wasn’t involved in this considering how important he was to Millennium. It really shines a bright light on how ahead of it’s time it was when it originally aired. The general television audience wasn’t ready for a brutal and shocking reality on solving gruesome crimes. Unfortunately, this lead to it’s cancellation. Now, it’s everywhere on TV and it’s been completely embraced by everyone. The cast and crew break down some of their favorite episodes and moments during it’s run. They talk about all of the seasons and their unique storylines throughout it. It’s a visual love letter to an underappreciated project that gained its fan base years after it was gone. This is full of detailed stories and inside information. It’s a very fun and entertaining look into Millennium. Hopefully, this gets more people to experience it later on. STRONGLY RECOMMENDED!!!! This looks great considering all of different locations and personalities interviewed in After the Millennium. It manages to put everything together with ease and all the the footage blends as a full length documentary. It also features various video clips and footage from the television show. It has an English: Dolby Digital Plus 5.1 track on the disc. This mainly a talky and conversation piece but the audio highlights it’s archival footage and score. All of the interviews are crisp, the history is elevated, and the music has a killer boost to it. It has English SDH subtitles. After the Millennium was originally released on home video in 2018, this newer upgrade adds so much more to the Millennium universe. It has the little over 7 minute “Home Again: Return to The Yellow House”. It’s a location tour of the original main house for Millennium. It has the almost 11 minute “Millennium CD Release Signing Event”. It has key members of the cast and crew reminiscing about the 90’s TV series at a reunion to celebrate the music of it. It has the almost 4 minute “Matthew Ingle’s Artwork Gallery”. It has the under a minute “End Game: The Return of Avatar”. It’s a quick trivia game for the fans and followers of this universe. It has the little over 26 minute “Behind the Scenes Interviews” with Troy L. Foreman and Andrew Shelton. These are additional conversations that weren’t used in the final version of After the Millennium. It has even more details and respect for the crime thriller. It has the almost 2 minute “Opening Credits Contest Submissions” featuring 3 of them. It has various “Promos and Trailers” for After the Millennium.
