Absolute Dominion Blu Ray Review (Giant Pictures)

Absolute Dominion is a 2025 martial arts action film written, produced, and directed by Lexi Alexander (Punisher: War Zone, Arrow, Lifted, Supergirl, Taken, S.W.A.T., Limitless, and Green Street Hooligans). It was produced by Alex Winter (Bill and Ted Face the Music, Zappa, Destroy All Neighbors, The YouTube Effect, The Panama Papers, Showbiz Kids, and Dark Web). The budget was an estimated $13,000,000. In the year 2063 AD, the world faces catastrophe as zealots and extremists wage a terrifying global holy war in the name of spiritual superiority. In a desperate attempt to save humanity from itself, the world’s governing bodies vote to establish The Battle of Absolute Dominion, a fierce martial arts tournament that will determine a champion whose faith will govern humanity and restore all peace for the immediate future!!!! Absolute Dominion feels like a concept and plot that would have really gotten over in the 80’s. Martial arts and tournament features were all over the place back in the day. This adds religion to the mix so it makes it very interesting. Absolute Dominion sticks to mainly unknown actors and legit fighters for this low budget production. It has a few familiar faces which includes Alex Winter (Bill and Ted franchise, Freaked, The Lost Boys, Death Wish 3, Smurfs, and Grand Piano) and Patton Oswalt (Young Adult, Ratatouille, Big Fan, The King of Queens, and Seeking a Friend for the End of the World) in smaller roles here. The rest of the cast includes Désiré Mia (Monsters These Days), Junes Zahdi (Dog), Olunike Adeliyi (Saw 3D), Andy Allo (Chicago Fire), Laith Ashley (Wicked City), June Carryl (Mindhunter), Mario D’Leon (Premium Rush), Julie Ann Emery (Better Call Saul), Reagan Gomez-Preston (The Parent ‘Hood), Val Hovanesian (Die Fighting), Mark Hulsewe (MR-9: Do or Die), Lola Paja (VHS Violence), Ayhan Tongadur (Cash), Jason Marcos Velez (Arena Wars), Michael Chaturantabut (Power Rangers franchise), Jeremy Chavez (Venom: The Last Dance), Kolten Jensen (MR-9: Do or Die), and David Torok (Kung Fu Yoga). Absolute Dominion could use some more blood and violence during it’s fights but it has excellent choreography for all of the martial arts in this. It’s very ambitious for it’s story but I appreciate it trying to be more than your average karate themed feature. The drama is heavy as these dangerous competitors represent their religions to take over the entire universe. It was actually backed by Blumhouse Television. Absolute Dominion is super entertaining and it’s fun during it’s competitive moments. It had potential to be even better but it was still solid for what it was. Let’s discuss this high definition presentation from Giant Pictures! This 1080p (2.35:1) transfer looks great on blu ray. This independent action film is much better than expected in HD and it has some colorful visuals during it. It has an English: DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 track on the disc. The audio shines during the fights and it’s soundtrack. All of the dialogue is crisp, the action is elevated, and the music has a nice boost to it. It has English SDH, Portuguese, Arabic, and Spanish subtitles. It’s a M.O.D release (Professional BD-R). It’s available everywhere right now including MovieZyng.com, CHECK IT OUT!!!!
